Crock Pot Rotisserie Chicken

This Slow Cooker whole chicken is a favorite of mine as well as my family's. It's perfect to make when we have side dishes to use up, or we're all coming and going as we eat. This is the perfect Crock Pot dinner for easy nights.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 pound broiler chicken
  • 2 Tablespoons Paprika
  • 2 Tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3-4 teaspoons water

Instructions

  • In a large slow cooker (6-quart or biggeadd whole chicken breast side down
  • In a small bowl combine remaining ingredients to form a paste
  • Coat chicken on the outside and as much of the inside as you can with paste
  • Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high 4 - 4 1/2 hours total time until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken reads 180 degrees.
  • Place chicken on a dish or platter and let sit for a few minutes before cutting and slicing to serve.

Notes

Serve chicken with rice, mashed potatoes, veggies, salad or any other side dish.
** If you want your rotisserie chicken to have crispy skin, move the chicken to a baking sheet lined with foil and put it under the broiler for 4-5 minutes until the skin is browned. Flip the chicken over if you want both sides browned.
