Best Grilled Pork Loin Roast

I am all about easy dinners and dinners that are budget-friendly. I’m also a huge fan of meals that will have a leftover night included with them like this pork loin in foil on grill that makes a great candidate for this!

Many, many moons ago, a girlfriend had mentioned the killer deal that Sam’s Club has on pork tenderloins. Getting meat for a family of four for only $10, working out to just $2.50 per serving, essentially.

And, a nice meat that would seem fancy, I feel like I am winning the mom game!

So, if you’re wondering how to grill pork tenderloin in foil, you’re in the right place!

What is the best grilled whole pork loin marinade to use?

When I am grilling a pork tenderloin I always want to have some flavor by using a marinade, but I never want to overpower the pork taste so that I can serve it alongside several savory side dishes that can all compliment each other.

This is why I love the Asian inspired pork loin marinade that I use for this pork loin.

How to grill a pork loin:

There are just a few steps that you need to take to make a pork tenderloin on the grill in foil – and a grill pork loin is rather simple. I love grilling a pork loin because it’s truly so simple!

How long does it take to grill a pork loin (wrapped in foil post-cooking)?

Start with 30 minutes, rotating every 10 minutes. Make sure to use a meat thermometer so that you can see when the temperature of the grilled whole pork loin has hit 145 degrees F.

What is the best pork tenderloin grill temp?

The pork tenderloin grill temp is 350 to 375 degrees, about medium heat. Let the pork tenderloin come to room temperature before putting the pork loin on the grill in foil.

What is the grilling time for pork tenderloin?

In case you’re wondering how long to grill a pork loin, grilling can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on the flame, and temperature of the grill. Be sure to use a meat thermometer and stay close to the grill.

Four steps for how to grill pork loin on the grill:

1. Prep the pork loin marinade:

In a resealable plastic bag or bowl mix together honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, ground ginger and garlic powder. Reserve half of the marinade in a container to put on the pork loin as it’s grilling and set aside.

2. Add the pork to the marinade:

Add pork tenderloin to bag or bowl with remaining marinade. Cover bowl or seal bag and place in refrigerator for at least 4 hours and up to 8 hours to marinate. I make the marinade in the morning and let the pork marinate all afternoon.

3. Grill the pork tenderloin:

Preheat grill to 350 degrees F. Carefully place pork tenderloin and grill for 30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F. Rotate the tenderloins every 10 minutes and carefully base with marinade you set aside.

** I do have several tools that come in really handy when you’re making pork tenderloins on the grill. I have this stainless steel meat thermometer that I stick in the thickest part of the pork tenderloin to help me keep an eye on the temp – there’s nothing worse than overcooked/too well done pork!

This meat thermometer is magnetic and sticks to the side of the grill and tells me the temperature of the pork so I can get it just right. It’s worth every penny and not expensive at all!

Another tool that I love having when I make this pork loin grilled recipe is this basting brush. It’s perfect for getting in any small nooks and crannies on the pork loin.

4. Resting time:

Do not skip this step! Remove from grill and cover with foil. Let rest 10 minutes to let juices redistribute. This gives you the ultimate juicy pork tenderloin and isn’t a step that you want to skip!

Once the pork has had a chance to rest, cut it into 1/2 to 1 inch pieces depending on how you’re planning on serving it and what you’re planning on serving it with (pieces of meat to cut, sandwiches, with crackers, etc.

Do I do the pork loin on the grill in foil?

I do not grill the pork loin in the actual foil. The only time I use foil when I am grilling these pork loins is when I am done grilling and cover the pork loin with the foil to let it take in the flavors and rest.

Grilling a pork loin is easier than you would ever think, at least it is for me! A good grilled pork loin recipe will be tender on the inside and full of flavor on the outside.

Grilling a pork loin roast is the way to go. And, when you pair it with delicious side dishes like these Crockpot cheesy potatoes or my favorite cheesy potato bake.

If you have an Instant Pot, we love this Panera Bread mac ‘n cheese as another side dish option, or this creamy baked mac and cheese is another fantastic option!

Place in refrigerator for 4-8 hours to marinate.
Preheat grill to 350 degrees. Place tenderloins on grill. Grill for 30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. Rotate the tenderloins every 10 minutes and baste with remaining marinade.
Remove from grill and cover with foil. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

If you’d rather, you can always bake these in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. I prefer grilling, but if baking is the only option, it’s certainly there!
