Bisquick breakfast casserole to be donated

We are huge fans of breakfast casseroles at our house – the amount of protein a good breakfast casserole packs is impressive, and a breakfast casserole can be enjoyed at any time of the day.

Years ago I shared this breakfast casserole with Bisquick on another website of mine, but I recently realized that I had never posted it on this website.

This is the recipe that the Salvation Army provides for any organization or school who wants to provide a meal. It has carbs, protein and is just a good, hearty and filling breakfast casserole.

We LOVE breakfast recipes at our house, so it was for sure time to get this recipe up on this website too and make it official.

This Bisquick egg bake version is the version that is prepared and then baked.

But, when this breakfast casserole with Bisquick is donated to the Salvation Army they ask that Bisquick breakfast casseroles like this one are prepared, baked and then frozen so that they can thaw and heat up easily to serve to the people that are in their shelters.

And, I have to say, this Bisquick casserole is absolutely fantastic and delicious no matter what stage of life you are in.

Bisquick Breakfast Casserole

  • 9×11 disposable aluminum pan sprayed with cooking spray
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees
    2 C grated cheddar cheese
1 pound breakfast sausage, browned and crumbled
    4 eggs
    2 C milk
    1 C Bisquick mix
    1/4 tsp pepper
    salt to taste
    1 T taco seasoning
    Paprika

Place meat and cheese in the pan or a 9×13 baking dish sprayed with baking spray

Combining Bisquick, eggs, milk and seasonings
Combine eggs, milk, pepper, seasonings and biscuit mix in the blender and blend one minute on high
Pour this mixture over meat and cheese

Pouring breakfast casserole ingredients over meat and cheese
Sprinkle with paprika (optional, but I like it because it adds some depth and decoration)

Unbaked breakfast casserole
Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until the casserole is firm in the middle

If donating this breakfast casserole: after cooling, cover with aluminum foil and freeze
with a permanent marker, note the date and recipe (at a minimum the meat content) on foil top
