We love a sweet treat – the kiddos especially do! And I love an easy treat that I can throw together like this chocolate chip dip.
We love to serve this chocolate chip cookie dough with Nilla wafers, graham crackers, pretzels and believe it or not (I know you won’t be surprised!) but this is awesome with Nutter Butter cookies, too – YUM!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dip
Move over cookie dough bars, we’ve got a new dip in town! This cookie dough dip is the BEST. Sweet, sugary and a crunch from the chocolate chips, you will be hard-pressed to not eat the whole bowl – but don’t be afraid to make it for just that reason!
You might be wondering if I serve this as an appetizer or a dessert …. guess what? I serve it for both!
I’ll usually have it out on the countertop when guests arrive and then I’ll bring it back out later in the night when everyone gets a case of the munchies!
Delicious!
How to make chocolate chip dip:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt, to taste
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Milk, optional for texture
Optional: 1/2 cup flour, for texture. Note that the flour MUST be cooked in the microwave for 2 minutes or cooked in the oven at 350F for 10 minutes, stirring once halfway through, to kill any bacteria. I recommend leaving it out if you can, as you don’t necessarily need it but you can always add it at the end if you think you need it!
Directions for cookie dough dip:
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar and white sugar.
Add in the flour, if using, mix completely and adjust texture if needed with milk, 1 Tablespoon at a time.
Add vanilla extract and salt, combine, taste and adjust.
Add the chocolate chips and mix completely.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before enjoying.
